CRS

Mannheim

Our Largest and
Most Versatile Phase
I/II Clinic

CRS Mannheim – our largest unit – is comprised of a clinic with three distinct wards, offering a total of 94 beds, including 58 dedicated to long-term stays. The facility also features multifunctional rooms, an 800 sqm outpatient area, and a large garden, making it highly adaptable to various trial designs.

Historically part of Mannheim’s University Hospital’s pediatric department, CRS Mannheim has a long-standing track record of conducting a wide range of Phase I and II clinical trials, adhering to the highest quality standards. From first-in-human (FiH) trials to Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Phase IIa trials, our expertise spans cardiovascular, central nervous system, dermatology, ARDS, pain management (including narcotics), and more.

Mannheim is part of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan area, home to approximately 2.4 million people and a hub for global companies and bio-pharmaceutical research. The region includes renowned institutions like the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) and the university hospitals of Heidelberg
and Mannheim.

Specialized Cardiometabolic Expertise, All-in-One Clinical Research Solutions

CRS Mannheim excels in cardiometabolic research, covering obesity, diabetes, metabolic disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. Our clinic is equipped with advanced facilities, including laboratories for blood and urine processing, a laminar flow hood, six examination rooms, a central cardiovascular monitoring unit, and a minimally invasive operating theatre.

One of our unique advantages is our proximity to a small-scale contract manufacturer licensed under § 13 AMG (German Medical Law). This facility, located just 500 meters from our clinic, allows us to handle EU drug import, packaging,
labeling, and IMP reconstitutions, all in compliance with the latest standards.

Our augmented-care section spans three wards, featuring centralized monitoring and telemetric capabilities for continuous patient oversight. The comfort section is designed for long-term stays, offering a supportive environment across multiple floors. Additionally, our 800 sqm outpatient area, with a separate entrance, efficiently accommodates up to 200 volunteers and patients without disrupting in-house activities.

We also have a robust patient collective for cardiometabolic research, ensuring efficient patient recruitment and trial execution.
