CRS

Kiel

A Hub for
Specialized Clinical
Research

Located next to Kiel University Hospital, CRS Kiel occupies a 300-square-meter townhouse designed to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for clinical trial participants.

The unit particularly focuses on small to mid-sized trials and complex pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) assessments involving patients with renal and hepatic impairments at various disease stages, as well as elderly patients.

Advancing Dermatology Research

In addition to conducting Renal & Hepatic PK and PD Studies, CRS Kiel is a leading research facility in dermatology, offering specialized expertise in a wide range of skin conditions.

Our clinic is fully equipped to conduct studies across various dermatological conditions, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, actinic keratosis, onychomycosis, skin cancers (basal and squamous cell carcinoma), acne, rosacea, eczema, urticaria, alopecia areata, and hidradenitis suppurativa.

CRS Kiel also has the ability to evaluate new materials used in aesthetic medicine, ensuring we stay at the forefront of both therapeutic and cosmetic dermatology advancements.

All dermatology studies at our clinic are led by our in-house dermatological consultant, Dr. Abir Alatrach, whose expertise and leadership guide our efforts to maintain the highest standards of care and research.

Infrastructure and Cooperation

The CRS Kiel unit is equipped with advanced telemetric systems for continuous monitoring of trial participants. Typically, one or two participants are hospitalized per room, ensuring focused medical attention. The unit includes dedicated rooms for medical examinations and an in-house pharmacy managed by a pharmacist for the storage and dispensation of trial medications.

A longstanding partnership with a local accredited medical lab ensures rapid turnaround of lab results, often within six hours, facilitating efficient screening and close safety monitoring. Additionally, CRS Kiel maintains its own in-house medical lab for blood and urine processing.

Leadership and Team

CRS Kiel stands at the forefront of clinical trials for patients with renal and hepatic impairments under the leadership of Dr. Maria Lehretz, Medical Director. The staff’s extensive experience with this patient population is continuously enhanced through training, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of potential risks and effective management strategies.

The team includes specialists in internal medicine, anesthesiology, and dermatology, providing robust medical support.
